Children from St John's Wood learned about religion with a visit to a church
More than 20 young people from the St John's Wood Adventure Playground, in St John's Wood Terrace, and Salusbury World Refugee Centre, in Salusbury Road, in Queen's Park, visited St John's Wood church, in St John's Wood Road on Friday.
Reverend Andrew Hammond showed them around the church and taught them about the Christian religion.
He said: "It was great to meet so many children from so many different backgrounds coming together to find out about other people's faiths. This kind of programme offers everyone an enriching experience."
Steven Derby, project co-ordinator at the Adventure Playground, said: "This programme takes children on visits to faith centres, including churches, synagogues, a temple and the London Central Mosque. The outings provide an insight into the neighbourhood's diversity while supporting its cohesion."
