New ramps, banks and blocks were unveiled at Meanwhile 2 Gap skatepark, under the Westway, to a crowd of more than 100 skaters on Saturday.

Many of the original features, including some of the ramps which were fitted when the park opened in the 1970s, have been preserved.

Westminster Council's cabinet member for customers and neighbourhoods Cllr Audrey Lewis said: "We're worked closely with a core group of local skateboarders and kept them regularly informed of the redesign process to ensure they're happy with this end result. Now completed, this new facility will provide an exciting way for youngsters to show off their skateboarding skills in a safe and secure environment."
