Romantic proposal at Marylebone station

Posted by Juliet Eysenck on Nov 24, 08 03:15 PM in People

proposal.jpgA couple became engaged at Marylebone station, the same place their romance began.

David Koya met his now fiancee, Nikki Badejo, outside Marylebone station two years ago.

He said: "She was lost and I helped her find her way.

"Our destinies crossed again when we saw each other about a week later on the train.

"We've shared so many special moments at Marylebone station that it really has been a part of our relationship."

David proposed to Nikki by reading a poem that he wrote for her over the PA system.

After reading the poem he then asked if she would marry him and left the announcers' office to a concourse full of anticipated passengers.

He then got down on one knee and Nikki said 'yes' to a crowd of clapping passengers.

Paul Burnage, station master of Marylebone Station said: "On behalf of everyone at Chiltern Railways I would like to wish David and Nikki all the best for their future.

"This just proves that there is still romance in rail travel."

We'd like to hear from you.
