Exhibition opens in Marylebone

A free exhibition is to open in Marylebone from next Thursday.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), in Portland Place, will host Le Corbusier's Cabanon, until April 28.

The exhibition features the reconstruction of the actual interior of the Cabanon that Le Corbusier planned and built in 1952 for his holidays at Cap-Martin.

The Cabanon is an apparently unpretentious sea-side hut, comprising a remarkable example of micro-architecture, full of meaning.

Continuing its research into the work of the I Maestri, Cassina has recreated the Cabanon with the aim of divulging greater knowledge of the values of the architectural interior.

Cassina, the leader in contemporary design furniture, has a unique relationship with Le Corbusier that begun in 1964 and has the exclusive worldwide license to reproduce selected pieces of furniture by Le Corbusier.

In addition to this spectacular installation of Le Corbusier's Cabanon, the RIBA will also house a collection of Le Corbusier furniture, which will be a platform to highlight the special Cassina/ Le Corbusier relationship.

The opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10am - 5pm, Tuesday 10am - 9pm.
