policecar.jpgA couple from Maida Vale is appealing for priceless stolen video camera footage of their newborn son to be returned.

The flat of Sandra and Michael Abittan in Warrington Cresent, and another in the same block, were targeted by thieves on January 20, sometime between 11am and 4.30pm.

They have offered a reward of £100 for information about all their stolen possessions, including footage of their son Arien taken just hours after he was born on December 26.

Jewellery and electrical goods were also stolen from both flats.

Mrs Abittan, a mother-of-four, said: "We had just come back from a weekend in France, and we found the door was completely smashed and our bedroom was in a mess.

"Everything else can be replaced, but this film showed the first few hours after our baby was born."

DC Steve Nicholls of Westminster burglary squad added: "I would like to hear from anyone who may have information to do with these burglaries, or has come across a Sony camcorder containing footage of a newborn baby."

A man was seen acting suspiciously outside the flats around the time the burglaries took place. He is described as between 30 and 40 years old, of medium build with a beard, and wearing a blue beanie hat and dark jacket.

Anyone with information should contact Westminster burglary squad on 020 7321 9888 or 020 7321 9880, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

We'd like to hear from you.
