Bayswater slimmers party like it's 1969

Super slimmers from Bayswater are set to part in a world record-breaking birthday party on Thursday.

Members of the Bayswater Slimming World group, who meet at Pickering Hall, on the Hallfield Estate, are hosting a 1969-themed party in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Slimming World.

More than 500,000 people across the UK are expected to attend special birthday party events at Slimming World groups between Monday and Saturday next week.

Slimmers at the Bayswater group have lost a combined total of 70stone 6.5lb this year alone.

For the party, they will don 60s-themed fancy dress, enjoy music from the era and tuck into healthier versions of favourite party food and drink.

The club was launched by Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE in September 1969, when she was just 21.

Elaine Osbourne, who runs the Bayswater group, is inviting anyone who would like to find out more about Slimming World's hunger-busting weight loss plan to come along to the party on October 1 at 7pm, on the Hallfield Estate.

She said: "The party is the perfect opportunity for people to come along and see what Slimming World is all about.

"We've been celebrating Slimming World's ruby year since January with members doing all sorts of activities, walking, running, swimming and cycling together.

"There's been a great buzz all year that has really boosted everyone's motivation and weight loss success."
