Flat fire in Maida Vale

Posted by Juliet Eysenck on Sep 23, 09 04:28 PM in People

Several people were evacuated from their homes when a fire broke out at a flat in Maida Vale yesterday morning.

The fire brigade was called to the Oxford Road flat shortly after 7am, and crews had brought the blaze under control by 7.43am.

Two fire engines and around ten firefighters tackled the fire, which partly damaged a flat on the third floor.

A number of people left the building before the fire crews arrived.

Firefighters from Paddington and Belsize fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
