Chemical incident in Bayswater

Posted by Juliet Eysenck on Nov 2, 09 10:48 AM in People

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were called to deal with a chemical incident in Bayswater yesterday.

A strong drain cleaning powder had corroded a plastic waste pipe in the third floor flat, in Queensway.

After inspecting the affected area and evacuating the four storey block of flats, the firefighters removed the chemical.

The brigade was called at 5.49pm last night, and the incident was over by 7.18pm.

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters from Paddington, Euston, North Kensington and Kensington fire stations attended the scene.

We'd like to hear from you.
