Brother and sister named following St John's Wood fire
A brother and sister who died in a flat fire in St John's Wood yesterday morning have been named.
Five-year-old Farah Rashid was pronounced dead at the scene of a flat fire in Cunningham Place.
Her brother Mohamad Rashid, 13, fell from a window and later died in hospital.
The fire brigade was called to the four-storey block of flats shortly before 3am on Thursday morning.
Post-mortems and inquests will be held in due course.
Two other brothers, 12 and 15, were taken to hospital along with their father, aged 44.
All three remain in hospital. Their condition was initially given as serious but all are now improving.
It is too early to confirm a cause of the fire.
Inquiries by police and the London Fire Brigade are underway.
* A 32-year-old man was arrested near the scene in connection with this incident and was taken to a central London police station.
He is now bailed to return in the New Year, pending further inquiries.
