A second child has died following a flat fire in St John's Wood early this morning.

Just before 3am, police were told of a fire at a third flat in Cunningham Place.

A girl, believed to be aged five or six, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her brother, aged 13, who had jumped from a window, died later in hospital

Two other brothers, aged 12 and 15, were taken to hospital with their father, aged 44.

All three remain in hospital in a serious but not believed to be in life-threatening condition.

It is too early to confirm the cause of the fire.

Inquiries by police and the Fire Brigade are ongoing.

* A 32-year-old man was arrested near the scene.

We'd like to hear from you.
